Before You Worship | The Call to Reconciliation

Matthew 5

Matthew 5:23-24 - Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

When we have an issue with someone, and God causes us to remember that a brother has something against us, we are to go to them and try to make it right. He doesn’t tell us to ignore them, or wait for them to come to us. He puts the ball in our court, to make the move towards reconciliation.

And God would rather see us take care of that than come to worship or seek Him…….Ouch! 

And the fact He causes us to remember, is God’s way of not allowing us to have a peace about it until we make things right.

Oh, the wisdom of God!
